How to connect Foliyo to Claude and share client-ready work

Connect Foliyo to Claude through its remote MCP connector, then ask Claude to turn your finished work into a branded report, proposal or presentation. Foliyo hosts the result online, so your client receives a browser link instead of a local HTML file or your working conversation.

What you need before connecting

Use Claude on the web or desktop and a Foliyo account you control. A Foliyo Free account is enough to try a branded page with a PIN and basic read receipt. Pro removes Foliyo branding and adds detailed engagement and email gates; your Claude plan is separate.

This guide is for ordinary Claude chat. Claude Code has its own terminal setup. If your organization manages connectors, an administrator may need to enable access first. Check the options available in your account rather than assuming every account has the same controls.

1. Add the Foliyo connector

In Claude, open Customize and find Connectors. Look for Foliyo in the directory and open its connection controls. If you do not see it, use the custom web connector option with the address below. This connects to the hosted Foliyo service; no local server is needed.

  1. Choose the directory connection, or add a custom web connector named Foliyo with the hosted address.
  2. Use the OAuth sign-in flow. Sign into the intended Foliyo account and review the requested access.
  3. Approve the connection and return to Claude. Do not paste passwords, callback URLs or authorization codes into chat.

2. Make Foliyo available in this conversation

Open the conversation’s connector controls and enable Foliyo. A saved connection does not guarantee that a particular chat has its tools available. Before asking for a publication, check that Claude can access the connection.

Use the Foliyo connector to check my available workspace context. Do not create or publish a page yet. If the connector is unavailable in this chat, tell me instead of making a local HTML file.

3. Ask for the deliverable your client needs

Provide the approved content, the audience and the sender. A client’s visual style and the person sending the work are separate choices. Keep private notes and rejected drafts out of the deliverable.

Foliyo’s guided flow asks for missing choices with numbered answers and shows a summary before building. Tell Claude what you already know so it can reuse those choices.

Illustrative Foliyo client proposal layout
A fictional proposal example. Your deliverable should use your approved content, design and fees.
Create a Foliyo from the approved proposal in this conversation for Northwind. Include the problem, recommended work, approved scope, supplied fees and next decision. Use a scrolling web page in Northwind’s approved visual style, with my consultancy as sender. Use a PIN and one shared link. Ask missing questions using numbered choices. Show the content and sharing summary before building. Do not invent facts or send emails.

4. Review, publish and open the online link

Review the summary and request corrections before choosing Build. Ask Claude to check the prepared output, including links and supported controls, and then publish through Foliyo. A file preview on your computer is not the finished hosted link.

Open the returned URL in a separate browser session. Test the PIN or other gate, read the entire body and check it on your phone. Confirm that important charts and source links remain usable. Foliyo Free shows a Foliyo bar; do not mistake that for a failed brand choice.

  1. Verify the title, audience, sender, visual design and access settings.
  2. Check that the URL opens online and that the main content is present beyond the first screen.
  3. Share the link only after the recipient view is ready. Send the PIN separately when appropriate.

5. Keep revisions at the same address

When the client asks for a change, identify the existing Foliyo rather than requesting a new one. Confirm which page will be updated and retain the intended access settings. A saved download does not change when the online version changes.

Find the Northwind proposal Foliyo. Update only the approved timeline with the changes below, keeping the existing URL and access settings. Show me the proposed changes first. Do not create a duplicate page or email anyone.

If Claude cannot find Foliyo or only creates a file

Check the selected Claude account, connector authorization and the tools enabled in this chat. If tool definitions were recently updated, refresh the tools list in the connector settings where available and start a new chat.

For a failed sign-in, restart the flow from the connector settings instead of reopening an old callback URL. If your organization blocks write tools, an administrator must review that restriction. Do not work around it by sharing another person’s credentials.

If a local file appears, ask Claude to use the connected Foliyo publishing tools and return the hosted URL. For reports with custom interactive code, check the supported publishing mode before moving the work; do not assume a complete application will run unchanged.

Documentation and verification scope

Connection instructions were checked against Anthropic’s documentation on 15 October 2026. Interface labels and account policies can change. Foliyo’s recorded Claude first-use test on 14 October covered numbered choices, confirmation before building, publication and the recipient PIN view. That historical test is not a guarantee for every Claude model or account.
